Real Sans is an uppercase geometric display typeface I designed from scratch: chunky, confident, and built for headlines and impact rather than body copy.
A complete working font, not a sketch: A to Z, every numeral, and full punctuation, spaced and drawn as a single consistent system.
The honest edge: I tested it, but I was designing type for the first time, so it isn’t a perfect system top to bottom. It’s complete and it works, which is why it’s still the one I reach for.
It started as a free-logo request on Reddit in 2020, for Krish at KNA27 Studios, an independent developer working on a game called Kraken Insurgence. A stock typeface wasn’t going to make the branding stand out, so I decided to draw one from scratch instead. It grew into a full graphic-design role.
The work spanned KNA27 Studios branding, game-page graphics, icon and logo exploration, and splash-screen and credit assets.
Development was eventually paused for the usual reasons an indie project stalls: time, budget, and scope. The game never shipped.
The typeface outlived it. Real Sans is still mine, still in use, and released for personal use, a small finished thing that came out of a project that did not finish.
