Since 2018: apps, brands, and photographs.
I’m Alex Dean, from Kansas. I’ve been making things on the internet since 2018, across apps, brands, photography, fonts, and audiences, and the throughline is range. I learn fast and deliver across whatever the problem needs.
My current technical focus is building apps for Even Realities smart glasses, a small and demanding platform where the whole interface lives in a heads-up display. Tennis Mode and Debug Mode are both delivered and tested, work built on that hardware and adjacent devices.
Before and alongside that: I designed a typeface (Real Sans, 2020), founded a clothing brand (RIVR, 2023), was an early sponsored creator for Medal.tv (2018), grew social accounts to tens of thousands of followers, and now build AI sites and agents for clients. I care about typography, restraint, and getting the details right.

What I work on
Most of my current work is on smart glasses. It is a constrained platform: the whole interface lives in a heads-up display measured in pixels, over a Bluetooth link that drops, so every design decision is also an engineering one. That constraint is the part I like.
The rest is brand and type work, and photography. They are not separate careers. Designing a typeface taught me the patience that debugging a render pipeline needs, and shooting a series taught me how to edit, which is most of what design is.
Availability
Open to full-time roles from January 2028, and taking freelance work now.
I graduate in December 2027 with a BS in Communication and Media Studies, and I am looking for a full-time design or development role starting after that.
